CAFETOS DE SEGOVIA was formed by Ana and Martha Albir, conducting the family coffee business in the third generation, as a response to the high demand for transparent and socially responsible connections to Nicaraguan coffee farmers. It brings together a team of highly motivated and passionate specialists in multiple aspects of coffee production with the goal to provide to our customers the highest level of quality - not only of coffee but also in terms of responsible and accountable assistance throughout the entire chain of production. The company works together with its partner farms and coffee buyers around the world with a view to establishing long-lasting relationships.

OUR COFFEE
Visitors coming to Nueva Segovia, and in particular the Cordillera de Dipilto or Jalapa region, for the first time are pleasantly surprised to find an affordable, yet beautiful country with climatic conditions and fertile soil predestined for coffee cultivation. Specialty Coffee from this region of Nicaragua is a commodity in itself of high quality and with singular profiles and tastes. This coffee is exclusively arabica and typically in the quality range of 83-90, including the coffee varieties of Maragogype, Catuai, Borbon, Pacamara, Maracaturra, Catimore. The micro-climates in the high altitudes of the natural reserves in the Cordillera, for example, are responsible for the less sharp variations in temperatures, sufficient clear water, the necessary degree of sunshine and, as a result, an excellent maturation process of the coffee fruit year after year (as measured by international standards and the Cup of Excellence organization). CAFETOS DE SEGOVIA’s most ambitious goal in carrying out its business is to assist the local farmers in coping with the changing environmental conditions and the requirements of the world markets while preserving the best of their traditional farming culture. Not only do we cooperate with outstanding importers and roasters who care about the sustainability of the local farming businesses, but we also provide guidance and assistance to our partner farms in their production organization. In this context micro-milling meets new processing techniques to yet further improve quality and flavors. CAFETOS DE SEGOVIA actively advocates the respect for the environment and the people who work in this environment.
